Hi Maurice, Yes I tried that before and just did again and it still does not recognise me either. As I wrote before, it did happen to some other users as well. Some got very paranoid and though we kick them out. In most case, it came back after some time. In other, we did delete there user name and ask the user to re-create them. Any other suggestions to solve this problem? Did it ever happby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Support
Login on problems... - 19 years ago
Hello Brian, I use : version 5.1.16a and got a strange bug last week. I was traveling in the states and was surfing the net with various wi-fi service in hotel rooms using my Lap Top. I was accessing my forum without any problem until a few days ago. Re: Bug or wrong manipulation... ? - 19 years ago
Fortunatly it does not happen too often. We had it once or twice, but each time he wasted a lote of our precious time. Of course, he could empty the cookies files unless he does know about it. I'm sure this measure would help blocking a few of them. Regards, Yvesby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Support
Re: Bug or wrong manipulation... ? - 19 years ago
On my forum, I accept none register user to post. The "Francois" in question was one of them. What would be the best way to block him from using this user name other than blocking access to all none-register user? There is another issues I would like to discuss here. I have been running our forum since 1998 and found that there are actually 3 types of annoying people. It's unforby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Support

Re: Spam Hurdles Module (CAPTCHA's and other anti-spam tools) - 19 years ago
Hi Maurice, Great it does work ! This morning the table is down to 996 entries. I understand now that each entries will stay a minimum of 8 hours. Thanks for this great improvement, Yvesby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: Spam Hurdles Module (CAPTCHA's and other anti-spam tools) - 19 years ago
Hi Maurice, It looks like it's working. There are no more error messages because of excessive file in the cache. However, I've been looking at the new table and it does fill up quickly. I set up the module this afternoon and it's now over 3000 entries in 8 hours (busy forum, I know...) Is there a maintenance routine available or embedded into the code for cleaning up thatby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons

Re: SPAM Hurdle - Fixe needed - 19 years ago
Thanks you very much. One day after I shut down your module, I started receiving SPAM again... So I decided to reactivate it but the error message started soon after. We're getting a lot of visitor and I think that is why the cache fills up so fast... In a single hour, we had over 500 active users reading and writing... Re: SPAM Hurdle - Fixe needed - 19 years ago
Are you refering to the option of solving a math question into SPAM Hurdle? Actually I was wondering if some SPAM Hurdle options were not using cache. Does anyone know? Regards, Yvesby Yves Julien - Phorum Development
SPAM Hurdle - Fixe needed - 19 years ago
Hello, Because I'm getting way too much trouble with Cache problem and other, I decided to deactivate SPAM Hurdle today. My provider deactivated our forum 3 times this month because it generated too much Cache files. We move the Cache files directories else where and wrote a cron job to clean it up but now our members are getting many "Anti-SPAM" error messages since we did thisby Yves Julien - Phorum Development
Re: Phorum3Links module (restore your old Phorum3 links!) - 19 years ago
I have the same problem. The old link is: The new link is: If I type the old link, I get forwarded to the forum index's page. I thought this module will forward the old link to the new link. Regards, Yvesby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: User Rank Module - 19 years ago
Hi Oliver, I did tried that version but somehow it seems the old setting file will not override. I keep getting Brain's setting file (without the drop list) even after I completly erase the folder. Anyhow, thanks for your help but I'm giving up. I understand that nothing's perfect but I'm disapointed that they refuse to acknowledge the bug... Re: User Rank Module - 19 years ago
The post is count correctly but is not interpreted correctly. I did a test where I updated the value to 999. In the profile.tpl, the corresponding Grade was ok. When I posted another message to incease the count to 1000, the variable {PROFILE->posts} gives out 1,000 and this is not interpreted as 1000 but as 1.00 . The Grade output thus become as 1. This bug only occur with the profil.tpby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons

Me too !?!?! I used Brian's version posted here: userrank-1.3.tar.bz2 2.8KB brianlmoon 09/05/2006 08:22PM However, I also checked Soren's version and the line you refer too is not ther either!?!?! Very strange, Yvesby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: User Rank Module - 19 years ago
Hi oliver, We must be using a different version because neither of the line your propose to replace exist the the version I downloaded here "userrank-1.3.tar.bz2". I attached the file to "userrank.php" file here. Thanks, YVesby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons

Re: /tmp fills up? - 19 years ago
Hello Maurice, My provider told me this: Why dont you just change the session save path to a directory you have access to? In your .htaccess file in your root web directory, place something like the following: php_value session.save_path /your/desired/session/save/path/ You can save the files off of your home directory and just create a simple cron job to clean it onceby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Templates/Themes
Re: User Rank Module - 19 years ago
Hello again, Nobody answered me on this issue so I'm trying again. I have further identified the problem with the profile template. It seams that the coma "," is being interpreted as a decimal. 999 = 999 1,000 = 1.00 So when the post count goes to 1000, it's become 1. I tested my theory by making an artificial user and incremented his post to 999000. And sure enouby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: /tmp fills up? - 19 years ago
Yes that is what my provider said. The owner is "nobody". So I tried this: WWWUSER=nobody CACHE=/tmp/c9201e61e1a9a3d73c1d97db98ebb87b/mod_spamhurdles But I still got the "Permission denied" message. /usr/home/yjulien/clean.cash: cannot create /tmp/c9201e61e1a9a3d73c1d97db98ebb87 b/mod_spamhurdles/clean.cache.files.49615: permission denied cat: /tmp/c9201e61e1a9a3dby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Templates/Themes
Re: /tmp fills up? - 19 years ago
Well then that a Catch 22! A couple days ago, my forum was automatically deactivated by the Web provider because my forum was generated too much of these file. Now if I can clean them up, I'm going to have a serious problem on a regular basis...!?!?! Can we simply write a cron job to call on the "Purge Expired Cash data" of the setting file of that module? Re: /tmp fills up? - 19 years ago
Hello Maurice, I tried your script and modified the CASH variable as such: CACHE=/tmp/c9201e61e1a9a3d73c1d97db98ebb87b/mod_spamhurdles Which is the link to all those extra directories created by SPAMHURDLE. I loeade the script in my home directories, chod it to an executable 455 adn trid to call it via telnet. I got these error messages : /usr/home/yjulien/clean.cash: cannotby Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Templates/Themes
Re: Statistic script ? - 19 years ago
OK thank now it works ! I tried to ad a another column to the topusers.tpl to show the users' rank. I made the following modifications: mods/userrank/info.txt hook: topusers|mod_userrank templates/default/topusers.tlp <td class="PhorumTableRow<?php echo $rclass;?>">{ROWS->mod_userrank}</td> But it did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks,by Yves Julien - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons

Hi Thomas, Maybe !?! Statistic script ? - 19 years ago
Hi, In the last version I used (3.2), I had a little script that was sorting the users in descending order of the amount of post they had. Is this something available with this version 5.1.16a ?
