Hello all, I have been using version 5.1.16a for many many years now. I was very satisfy until my dedicated server disk crash. The owner of the server reinstall it but since then it doesn't work properly... :-( For many reason I decided to leave that server and return the forum to the previous server I was on. HI Folks, I know nothing of PHP but would like to ad a simple ELSE function after an {IF}. What is the syntax for a ELSE statement? Hello All, I realized this is an old version but I still use it. I have translated it in French, for those interested. However, I found a bug or text error in the message. If we set to "-1" to disallow any hyperlink, we get this message: Sorry, unregistered users may not post more than -1 hyperlink(s) It should read : Sorry, unregistered users may not post any hyperlink(s). Hi Thomas, I tried the Restriction Module you proposed and it seems to be working :D Is there a French language file for it so the error message is translated when my users are on the French side of the forum? Hello Sheik, I'm actually looking for such a add-on to block those annoying Spammers. Will you're version works with Phorum version 5.1.16a ? It would interesting if you could have a feature to deactivate this function after a certain x of post. The reason for this is because some newly register user can take month before posting. I know Thomas but as I said, I can't update it the version myself and make sure everything is working properly when done. The guy that use to care of the forum it is gone or dead... :-( We're non profit and no money to hire a full time programmer... Well a I said, I use it already but it does not stop these particular SPAMMER who probably do it manually (not with a robot). That why I still believe that a module that allow the admin to automatically moderate the first few message from a new user would definitely stop these guys. I already use the USER RANK MODULE, which allow me to pop up different icone as user post more messages. Theby Yves Julien - Phorum Support

Hi Pat, I already use it for registration. I was using the "Solve a simple math question". I just change it for a Captcha image. I don't like the idea to use it for all messages. It's like punishing everybody because of the actions of a few. The idea of moderating the first's few messages of a new user is much better. Hi, I've been using verson 5.1.16a for a while now with great success. Today I try to log in in the admin section and my pas word is no longer recognise. It was fine yesterday... Hi Thomas, OK. I have another question. If the search table is actually a copy of the message table, why is it that it's about 3 times bigger than the original? The message table is around 142 Meg and the search table is around 430 meg. Regards, Yvesby Yves Julien - Phorum Support

Hi, I used Phoruym version 5.1.16a since 2006 now and it works very well. Last week I received a complaint from my provider because my database is getting very big ( >600 Megs). He said, there were 2 large table : phorum_messages >140 Megs phorum_search > 430 Megs I don't want to touch the first one but what is the used of the second one and what to do reduce it?
