Modules are small packages that increase or change the functionality of Phorum in some way, without changing any of the main Phorum code.
Re: Phorum and CakePHP ? - 15 years ago
thanks for the responses. having the ability to embed phorum easily really is an a huge asset as a developer. i think the widgetized version would allow you to pass phorum parameters in the code of the master program.by rheo - Phorum Integration
Re: Phorum and CakePHP ? - 15 years ago
wouldn't the widget mode just be alot like the embed phorum module? any feelings on if that will be updated to work with the current version of phorum anytime soon?by rheo - Phorum Integration
Phorum and CakePHP ? - 15 years ago
I've been considering porting my custom CMS to CakePHP framework for awhile now. I haven't got as far as figuring out how I would get Phorum to work with the it.. Currently I am using the Embed Phorum module with 5.1. Does anyone have some theoretical insight on how one would get CakePHP working with a non-cake app like Phorum?by rheo - Phorum Integration
Re: Module: Virtual Hosting - 15 years ago
I can't seem to find the place where I can add more domain names to the module settings. Where does that happen again? Does the current form of this module still work with 5.1?by rheo - v5/v6 Modules/Add-Ons

Why 5.2 over 5.1 - 15 years ago
I'm trying to decide if an upgrade to 5.2 is worth the effort for my application. Is there somewhere I can find out what the new features are that 5.2 has that 5.1 does not?by rheo - Phorum Support

did phorum ever get working with drupal 7?by rheo - v5/v6 Modules/Add-Ons
Re: Module: Admin Mass Email - 15 years ago
ok. cool. sounds like that would work out fine as well.by rheo - v5/v6 Modules/Add-Ons
Re: Module: Admin Mass Email - 15 years ago
this module seems like a pretty good idea. am i right in my understanding of it that it sends all the messages within one http request? depending on server load this might only take a thousand or so before it starts running into trouble. i like Maurice's idea of creating a queue of them first. I'd probably put the actual sending mechanism in a cron job. were there still plansby rheo - v5/v6 Modules/Add-Ons
Re: Upgrading... What version am I running? - 15 years ago
cool. drupal may well be the ultimate destination for my phorum. I was hoping to upgrade to 5.2 where it is first though before exploring if drupal would even be an advantage to what i want to do. I'll look through your drupal integration and see what i can come up with. thanks! ps. one question. have you begun to look at what changes might have to be made to bring it up to Drby rheo - Phorum Support

how high up on the priority list of new developments is the embed phorum module?by rheo - Phorum Support
Re: Upgrading... What version am I running? - 15 years ago
so you had a module all ready to go and then it disappeared? that's a drag alright. i was just reading the 5.2 news here.. it mentions how making it easier to embed phorum in 5.2 was a major focus. QuoteEmbedding and interoperability has become more and more important in recent years. More and more we see people wanting to make Phorum play nice with their custom web site or otherby rheo - Phorum Support
Re: Upgrading... What version am I running? - 15 years ago
Well, I may be up for it. Are there some doc or something explaining the changes in the way phorum works with modules between 5.1 and 5.2?by rheo - Phorum Support

How much would the Embed Phorum module that I'm running have to change in order to work with 5.2?by rheo - Phorum Support
Re: Upgrading... What version am I running? - 15 years ago
Oh right. Interesting. I'll have to take a closer look but I'm pretty sure that's all I was doing already. What's the difference between the Embed Phorum module and the External Authentication module?by rheo - Phorum Support

QuoteMaurice Makaay Mostly by making Phorum templates match the main site templates, while using a module that implements a single sign-on system by using the "user_session_restore" hook. is this a released module that has a name yet? is there a link to take a look at it?by rheo - Phorum Support

Upgrading... What version am I running? - 15 years ago
I am thinking about upgrading my current version of Phorum. I'm running a CVS checkout right now though and am wondering what the proper upgrade procedure should be. The version I'm running is.. phorum5-cvs-2007032516 Was phorum on a different source management at that time? I see it's subversion now. What version of phorum would that checkout compare to? can users delete their own posts? - 16 years ago
I'm using an old checkout of phorum at the moment. version phorum5-cvs-2007032516 considering upgrading to 5.2 Mostly because it's become necessary for users to delete their own posts. I can't find how to allow this in my current version. something i'm missing? if not, is it possible in the current version?by rheo - Phorum Support

Re: Module: External Authentication - 17 years ago
I'd be interested in seeing the code for your drupal drupal-6.13 / phorum-5.2 integration. was that an already populated forum you integrated? did you also port user information? is it possible you could post it here or somewhere? that's exactly what i was just thinking i'd like to try. :)by rheo - v5/v6 Modules/Add-Ons
Re: Integrating with a mailing list - 19 years ago
Sorry if the previous point seemed a bit out to lunch. Of course I have known about this for awhile but just never installed it to try it out. Phorummail Once this is installed is it as simple as subscribing phorum email to the mailing list? Does this handle multiple lists? For example if there are many mailing lists linked to different forums? I am also running the virtual hostsby rheo - Phorum Integration
Integrating with a mailing list - 19 years ago
has anyone successfully got a forum running where it's members are all subscribed to a mailing list? the idea is that someone could post the the forum and the post is sent to the mailing list and if anyone replies to the list by email it is also posted to the forum (without then also sending it to the list again) looking for suggestions.by rheo - Phorum Integration
Re: Latest X Posts in a templated Phorum-Page - 19 years ago
Quotethe merged threads "issue" is not related to this addon, its coming from the way phorum handles merges - it adds new messages for that - and therefore they show on top. ah i see. do you think this behaviour is something that should be corrected? it's a little misleading when users come to the site and check the "newest" page and see the moderators attempts to tidby rheo - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons

Re: Email All Posts module - 19 years ago
I have a forum which is private to a certain group. I would like to allow members of this group to "subscribe" (or not) in order to get every post by email. will this module allow each member to choose whether or not they receive the mails? Is this also tested as working with the phorummail module which would allow them to also reply to the post by email?by rheo - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: Latest X Posts in a templated Phorum-Page - 19 years ago
strange behaviour i have noticed with this.. when I merge 2 threads every post in those threads are suddenly included at the top of the newest no matter how old the posts are.by rheo - 5.1 Phorum Modules / Add-Ons
Re: Multi level folder support for new index view - 19 years ago
this is the thread with my old 2004 version of this similar idea but which did support nested folders but may have lacked in another area which i can't recall.by rheo - 5.1 Phorum Hacks
Re: Multi level folder support for new index view - 19 years ago
thanks for this. i actually had built my own "new" index view years ago which did support nested folders. when the "new" view came out i abandoned my own version so that i would have one less thing to patch in my local copy with ever update. i was baffled recently when adding a nested folder to find that it was not supported by default. this is a big help and i hopby rheo - 5.1 Phorum Hacks
