Re: Add a background to the Phorum - 9 years ago
Hi btcbtc, if you use the emerald template you can make your changes in \templates\emerald\css.tpl and define the background effects for your desired elements. It's just CSS, nothing special to Phorum. Take care to "purge cache" in the admin panel after changes to the template. Take care to clear also your browser cache when your browser doesn't show your changes.by Oliver Riesen-Mallmann - Phorum Hack/Mod Requests
Re: Very olf Phorum upgrade charset problems - 9 years ago
Hi Ignas, to set the default character set for the database (replace "phorum" with your database name if it varies) before creating/importing: ALTER DATABASE phorum CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci; You have to check also the collation in your import script file. Re: Search issue with more than one word - 9 years ago
Hi Jay, Di you use full text search option (see /include/db/config.php)? QuotePhorum documentation mysql_use_ft This setting determines whether Phorum will use MySQL's full text algorithm for searching through postings. If enabled, searching will be much faster. To be able to use this feature, the MySQL server that you are using must be version 4.0.18 or higher (should alby Oliver Riesen-Mallmann - Phorum Support

Re: Improving md5 password storage security - 9 years ago
Hi Eugenio, Quoteeugenio All you said is correct, but storing passwords using a better encryption is so cheap in terms of development cost (probably a few lines of code) respect to its advantages that is the first thing I would implement. I think it's a little bit more work for an existing software. You should also offer some kind of upgrade process... It's not only a questionby Oliver Riesen-Mallmann - Phorum Development

Hi Curtis, QuotewcprestonIt sounds like Oliver thinks it's a bug. No, I don't think it's a bug. Also feature requests are welcome as "issues". Hi Curtis, QuotewcprestonUnknown column 'force_password_change' in 'field list' Oh, my fault. I added an update patch to the corresponding commit but I forgot to extend the base definition of the table... Workaround: use the following mysql command to add the missing column: alter table phorum_users add column force_password_change tinyint(1) not null defaultby Oliver Riesen-Mallmann - Phorum Support
