Re: PostgreSQL - 16 years ago
hey guys.. whats the current state of the postgresql db-layer? is it running anywhere stable? if so, I would suggest to finally try backporting it to the phorum source or create a repo (e..g on github) to maintain the further development.by domdorn - Phorum Development
Re: Phorum 5.3 API Request: DAO-Pattern / Abstraction + smaller files - 17 years ago
QuoteThomas Seifert QuoteYou have a lot of concerns mixed in these files... e.g. you have one method phorum_db_check_connection() at the beginning around line 5000 you have phorum_db_user_list_subscribers() and around the end you have stuff like phorum_db_sanitychecks() Not really. These are all db functions for different purposes so its not "mixed". You have your purposes mixedby domdorn - Phorum Development

Hello Maurice, I think you are referring to include/db/mysql.php include/db/mysqli.php etc. ? In my opinion, this db-layer is far to big... e.g. If I just want to change the way the search works internally, I'll have to make a copy of one of the available layers, search through 7000 lines of code (ok, I know its fast with using the search of the editor) and then change the methby domdorn - Phorum Development
Phorum 5.3 API Request: DAO-Pattern/Abstractions/SoC - 17 years ago
Hello! I really like to suggest that for Phorum 5.3 you introduce the DAO Pattern (e.g. - - ) to your code. This way you could easily support unlimited db backends or even web-services/file-based solutions for the storage of your phorum-data and would allow the easy porting of phorum to a far wider range of db-backends. Also the discussion about postgresql/mysql/mysqli support wouldby domdorn - Phorum Development
Re: Possible hack attempt detected .... rejected ... - 17 years ago
I also had the "phorum Possible hack attempt detected. The posted form data was rejected." error, because i had a routine, that injected some configuration data into the $_POST/$_GET/$_REQUEST array... after removing the routine for the phorum integration page, phorum worked as usually. maybe this helps someone. kind regards, dominikby domdorn - Phorum Support
Re: PostgreSQL - 18 years ago
Is the code now in the repository? I'm currently running a phorum 5.2.6a using mysql with around 46k messages and 200k users (from the main community already ported to postgres). Is there a easy way to migrate from mysql to postgres? I could imagine something like mysqldump myphorumdb | psql phorumdb or something like that... or are there other things I'll have to keep in mind?by domdorn - Phorum Development
Re: username-function - 18 years ago
Ok, I've managed to add a hook at nearly all needed things... but one I can't figure out.. it's in the read.php and I need to modify the username of the thread starter.. any idea's? thx for your help! dominikby domdorn - Phorum Support
Re: username-function - 18 years ago
Hi! I've managed to solve most of the username related stuff using some hooks (great idea!)... just one question... why is the code in common.php 571 // a hook for rewriting vars at the end of common.php 572 if (isset($PHORUM["hooks"]["common"])) 573 phorum_hook( "common", "" ); shouldn't it be 571 // a hooby domdorn - Phorum Support
Re: 2007102600-patch - 18 years ago
I fear not, it's about ~10 lines out of the last update in the console buffer. Is there a way to do this specific upgrade again? Then I could post the exact error message. thx, dominikby domdorn - Phorum Support
Re: username-function - 18 years ago
thx for your reply. hmm.. my function User::GetProfileShow() returns the full html to the users profile, including status icons (online/offline), age, gender, etc. so, if a user would login/out i would have to create the custom_display_name again, and also everyday because of birthday etc. .. is there maybe a way to do this in the template itself? like <?php echo lUser::GetProfileShoby domdorn - Phorum Support
username-function - 18 years ago
Hi! Because I'm integrating Phorum into another community, I have to alter the displayed Usernames. Previously I just hacked read.php and list.php and did things like this: read.php 379 if(!empty($row["user_id"])) { 380 $row["profile_url"] = phorum_get_url(PHORUM_PROFILE_URL, $row["user_id"]); 381 // we don't norby domdorn - Phorum Support

Re: How convert Phorum 3.x postgreSQL to 5.x mySQL? - 22 years ago
I'm not a guru @ postgres but I'll take a look on it at the weekend, as I'm sooner or later migrating my whole page to postgres.by domdorn - 5.1 Phorum Support
Re: Forum List on every page - 22 years ago
shouldn't it be avoided to use php in the templates? however... why not make a dropdown list like seen on other forums, that automatically changes the forum if you select an other (either by using javascript or sending a form)? i think vbulletin has it that way. greetz, dominikby domdorn - 5.1 Phorum Support

Re: Include Forum into an existing User Database / Single-Sign-On - 22 years ago
The Sync is ok, I can already login with my "synced" user(s). I currently have my normal users table: NR|username|password_MD5|firstname|lastname 1|domdorn|passwdhash|Dominik|dorn and now I synced it with the forum table foT_users user_id|username|password|password_temp|email|....|active|...|admin|...| 1|domdorn| passwdhash|passwdhash|myemail@lyrix.at|...|1|...|1|....| sby domdorn - 5.1 Phorum Support
Re: Include Forum into an existing User Database / Single-Sign-On - 22 years ago
sUserID is a string so the setcookie would look like setcooke("phorum_session_v5","domdorn:adfaMD5ofmypasswdaads",12todayplus1month121212,"/"); I checked this with the cookie manager of mozilla and it is exactly the same. I also looked at the code last night and I think there's something more going on... Maybe I have to manually create a variable callby domdorn - 5.1 Phorum Support
Include Forum into an existing User Database / Single-Sign-On - 22 years ago
Hi there! I just installed the latest cvs-version of phorum (it's phorum5-cvs-2004070411.tar.gz). It works all quite well, I managed to import users by a script which runs every night or so and also created an own template. My Problem now is that i want to create a single sign on. I set the Use Cookies to Yes and my other script creates an cookie with setcookie("phorum_by domdorn - 5.1 Phorum Support
