Completely Stuck with Integration

Hi Guys,

I am not very good with php, just trying to figure out way here to integrate phorum with our website. but i m completely stuck and do not understand a bit ahead.

I want the forum which is here to be integrated here or vice versa. All I want is that forum should completely fit in the design.

I have reffered to few topics like

I DO NOT WANT TO INTEGRATE ANY USER INTEREGRATION as i wont be allowing registrations on forum.

help highly appreciated as this is the last thing on the list, which i need to finish before the deadline.

Well this will definitely require template creation. I would suggest you look at the possiblity of editing the header.tpl and footer.tpl files to start with. These files control the page content before and after the main forum content. Thus you can add the main layout for your site to these files to incorporate the forum. However, to get the look of the forum to match your site, you will need to edit the remaining tpl files.

It is recommended that you start with one of the provided templates, copy that template to a new folder, and begin your editing on the copied template.

EDIT: Actually, the forum thread that you linked to explains this concept pretty well. I would just start hacking away and learning as you go if you don't have the php/html knowledge and can't get someone to do it for you. If you don't have that kind of time, you will have to hope someone can pick up the project for you, but I believe everyone is pretty busy right now.

Hey Joe Curia,

I had already done that, I had added my header code and footer code to the template on phorum, but could not add the left panel.

I guess i will have to figure out and if someone cannot help me i have to probably switch.

This really sounds like standard HTML coding. A left panel normally is something that is implemented in the header.tpl, possibly by use of a simple table. If it's hard to imagine what this is about, then better find yourself somebody who can do the work for you.

I don't know what you want to switch to, but if it is a different forum package, then beware that the exact same templating issue will come up. For every package out there, you will need to create a good header and footer to make the forum look like the main site.
