Where is the embed module?

Are the files in this thread the embed mod? I don't say anything on the modules list in the wiki...

Yes, that thread is fully about the embed module.
It's not yet in the Wiki, because I'm still not sure if it's fully finished. I'm planning to make the embed module's final stable release with the 5.2 release, where we'll have some extra features for making the embedding less hacky at some places.

Do you have any idea when 5.2 will be released? I'm currently trying to get the 5.1 hack to work (by lon) and was wondering whether its better just to wait for your final release.

Embedding will not be different in 5.2 when comparing it to the 5.1 solution. My goal with the connector class was to create a static interface for describing how to embed Phorum into third party applications. The fact that I had to do some less optimal solutions under the hood of the embedding module doesn't really make the full solution a hack. It's only that some things can be solved in nicer ways in Phorum 5.2. So as far as I'm concerned, the current Drupal connector is not a hack, but an implementation of the embedding solution.
