We know everything about external linking and browser caching, because we *are* better HTML developers (when talking about images, I was more talking about images that are uploaded by your users as attachments; of course a couple of static images won't hurt that much). We also know about the loads of problems that people had when we tried external linking for dynamically generated data. Now we have only you ranting with stupid remarks about inline code. Otherwise we'd have loads of admins ranting about their changes not propagating to the forums. I know which of those we prefer.
What is sad is that you seem to asume a lot of untrue things about the Phorum developers and apparently are missing the insights to see why we did things the way we did.
I already explained what you can do yourself to make things fit a bit better within your philosophy. Maybe you should start coding some better HTML instead of spending your time in this thread.

Thomas its not about me, its about your philosophy. I am using with my Phorum external linking already :D, but when I am trying say to Phorum developers they should use rather external linking they say I am stupid okay, so if I am stupid I am stupid. I dont know why browser comes with external linking, thats right.
Now thousands of Phorum developers fans will say I am stupid too just like pat, instead think about what did I said. Never mind

test444 - I suggest you start a new thread specifically for arguing about external CSS in the core distribution.
This thread is about the Editor Tools module!
Maurice has already stated that he has to dynamically generate parts of his Javascript, and writing those out to an external file would cause issues for many users, as well as making the module more complicated. This was very clearly explained so why don't you seem to understand it?
You give the impression that you are more interested in arrogantly imposing your views on others, and are not listening to the replies at all.
@ Maurice - 3 weeks was a randomly generated minimum timeframe, susceptible to slippage ;-)

I was probably one of the first one's to complain about inline css used in Phorum. I was given mostly the same explanation and I accepted it after some discussion. As far as I remember I didn't hurt Brian's or Thomas's feelings that much either. And look since then we have had the external css generator script and everyone is happy.

Maybe not that many, but you know, you could try to be a little bit more polite, and after an explanation has been given accept that or eat your own dogfood. Arguing about the same thing over and over again just makes you look arrogant and "besserwisser".
As already suggested feel free to open another thread concerning the usage of external files versus inline scripts.
And btw definition of a bug is not something that doesn't work the way you want.

Hhhmmm , external CSS isnt nice for templating. Gives me headaches and trust me I template a lot these days. If you are soo worried about bandwidth take a normal host like Bluehost.

Problems with the "bbcode tool color" May 12, 2007 06:30PM |

Hi,
my 5.1.20 is running very stable, but there is one problem when writing a thread and using the "color tool". In MSIE the button is visible, but when i click on it, nothing happens. Then i click a second time on it, and a small popup window is opening. But there is no color in it:
When trying the Opera browser - there is NO color button at all?!?
The checkbox in the "editor tools module" for "Enable bbcode tool color" is marked.
Any ideas?
