a feed without an author (even without an email-address) isn't of much use.
works fine with thunderbird even without the email.

Yes, of course most rss aggregators won't check the author. I just wanted to remark, following the RSS 2.0 Specification it has to be an email address, otherwise it's not a valid feed.
That is one of the reasons, why I prefer the RSS 1.0 XML Feeds with Namespaces for special purposes ;)

Hum... on FireFox, the XML RSS file has no style. Here is the error that it shown to me:
" This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below".
How come?

There is no error. That is just the Mozilla teams way of trying to force XSLT on the world.

No, its bad.
An RSS-feed doesn't need an xslt-stylesheet and you normally don't read rss-feeds directly in the browser.

The Mozilla team rocks. Sometimes to a fault. Since RSS feeds are not viewed in browsers, there is no need for a stylesheet. The Mozilla XML parser is generic and wants a stylesheet for proper viewing. That is what the message is for.

Amazingly, you can create an XML document, apply a stylesheet and have a web page like look and feel to your XML doc. However, again, since RSS feeds are not meant for that medium, no stylesheet is needed.

Hello,

I'm running version 5.0.12 and have been trying to get this mod to work, with no luck. I'm pretty sure I've done everything correctly, but I get the following error when I plug in the RSS url to NetNewsWire: "Can’t display news for this subscription because:The XML parser could not parse the data because it was not XML data."

One of my forum members tried to plug in the URL to Thunderbird and it didn't work there either. The RSS feed loads as a text file in Safari, so I know the file exists...

Any idea on what's going wrong?

open it i.e. in firefox and that will tell you whats wrong
