If you want to temporarily disable the mod you would need to wrap all recommended changes in templates with the following

{IF mod_user_thank_flame}
...
{/IF}

Otherwise you would get php notices about not defines variables/indexes

I fixed this error for awhile by going into the template folder and deleting the second if statement and it's else section in topusers.tpl. So it didn't check if there were top users at all, it just built the table. That worked for like 7 weeks. Now all of a sudden I am getting multisort array errors on the top users page stating an issue on user_thank_flame.php line 270.

Upon getting the new errors I reinstalled the mod files to their original state, I wasn't sure what I had done to the mod to fix the "no users have been thanked yet!" problem originally. Now I've got that problem again without the multisort errors.

I figured out that I deleted that if statement originally to fix this issue, but it's not fixing the error this time. I'm just getting a blank screen with no table at all. I'm thinking of just deleting the links to the top users page in my header.tpl. Letting the ratings next to the user name stand alone with no reports page.

It seems this mod has issues over time. I'm just annoyed that I had used it for so long. The users got accustomed to it, and we were using the top users page to promote users to higher statuses. Now I gotta take it away. That's never easy when people are used to something.

Seems I have a weird new bug for you. My top users page always results in "No Users have been thanked yet!" Everything else seems to be working fine. Any ideas?

I've fixed a litany of bugs trying to get this mod working, but one that is currently stumping me is thanks/flames on the first post in a thread only affecting the user's count, but not being added to the message or thread's count. The voting buttons consequently remain visible. I chased this down all the way to the query performed by phorum_db_update_message() and echoed what it's (should be) doing. The queries (message and thread) seem fine and if I run them manually, it behaves correctly (at least until someone else tries to vote). There are no errors or anything written to the logs when this happens. Any idea what's up with this?

I found a bug. I was checking my event logs and found this:

PHP notice: Undefined index: thread_id

PHP notice generated at [site index]/forum/mods/user_thank_flame/user_thank_flame.php:34

So I went in and checked the hidden input fields that are submitted and realized that there is no 'thread_id' name; there's a 'thread' name. This is most likely throwing the error. I suppose it can be fixed one of two ways: change the input field name in the template file, or change the variable name in user_thank_flame.php from

to

[code="php"]
$thread_id = $_POST['thread'];
[/code]

This seems to fix the problem on my end.

I suspect that there is a "require" or "include" call in the module code that loads the custom_profile_fields.php script. That should have been "require_once" or "include_once" to prevent PHP from loading the file twice, resulting in the error about the redeclaration.

Edit: I checked the module package and found the likely culprit in user_thank_flame.php:

Hello,

This module worked perfectly, except for when I tested it after logging out and then back in. When I tried to load the forum after logging in, i get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare phorum_api_custom_profile_field_configure() (previously declared in [my_site]/forum/include/api/custom_profile_fields.php:102) in [my_site]/forum/include/api/custom_profile_fields.php on line 234

When I log out and view the forum, it works fine. Any ideas?

I was trying to use this module. I have done all the changes and enabled the module, but when I click the thank or flame image, I am getting an error which reads -

You can remove the lines in the templates about flames. I'll add an option for that sometime in the near future.

Well, I'm back from the dead once again with yet another edition of this module. I implemented a fix similar to SchoolAngels' for the line 142 warning (I used isset() instead of != NULL). I also added the french and swedish translations (thank you SchoolAngels and sebdah!) and Ryan's images (which are far better than mine).

There is a new option for which imageset to use (plus.png/minus.png or star.png/fire.png) and I fixed every situation that I could find where there was a foreach() warning.

I also fixed the hack error message (thank you, Ryan and hvella).

v0.7:
	Added Ryan's Imagesets and setting for them
	Added SchoolAngels' French translation and sebdah's Swedish translation
	Fixed the line 142 warning and others like it (hopefully)
	Changed formula for top users to take flames into account
	Fixed Possible Hack Detected error
	Fixed multiple-thank/flame loophole
	Set custom fields to Show on the Edit Users page
	Changed fields to install with html_disabled FALSE

I hope you guys haven't given up on me yet, and I hope even more that this update fixes the many warnings you were getting.

If you search in this thread's page, you'll see that there are more people that have this issue. I don't think anybody ever wrote a fix for this though.

Zekuc, in your template (not the mod's template but the one you're using for your board), in read.tpl, if you are using:

{INCLUDE "user_thank_flame::bar"} then it will utilize the file in mods/user_thank_flame/templates/emerald/bar.tpl

If you are using
{INCLUDE "user_thank_flame::min_bar"} then it will utilize the file in mods/user_thank_flame/templates/emerald/mini_bar.tpl

Both have form lines, and whichever one you're using (or you can just do it to both anyway), make sure {POST_VARS} is listed on the line after where it says 'form action="" method="post"'. Then make sure they are uploaded to the proper directory (mods/user_thank_flame/templates/emerald/) and view some posts again. Rating a post shouldn't bring up the hack message anymore.

The one in the directory templates/emerald is not part of the standard distribution, so you added it there. I don't know why (possibly for some other module that requires copying the template file there, possibly because you accidentally copied the template files in the emerald dir), but I am pretty sure that in this case you' have to edit the one in mods/user_thank_flame/templates/emerald.

Edit: Went ahead and installed this. It's a very nice module, but there is a loophole. If somebody votes on a post, they can use the back button and vote again, and it will count as an additional vote each time this is done, making it easy for someone to cheat the system. On a side note, I figured I'd offer to share these thank/flame icons, if anyone's interested. The +1 and -1 I made myself, while the other two (star and flame) I shrunk down from free-to-use clipart. Feel free to change them as you'd like.
