I apologize if this hack has already been done but I did not see it anywhere (or at least this flavor).

Lets say you have 3 forums running, would it be possible to extract the 10 most recent posts of all the forums and post it on the font page of a site as links to the forum itself? So you might have 4 posts from forum 1, 4 posts from forum 2 and 2 posts from forum 3.

Perhaps you would just display the subject line and make it a link to the actual forum. This way you could give the user a chance to see what is going on with the site or subject matter at a glance. They could choose to click on the link and go to the forum or continue on with other elements of the site.

Thanks in advance,

John

This would not get latest posts from ALL forums as far as I can see.

Can mySQL do a multi-table selection?

I'm using postgreSQL but I'm trying to help a site using mySQL.

Best regards
René

you can, but it's not really easy :(
Sorry, you do not have permission to post/reply in this forum.
