Template: Mobile Template
February 27, 2011 09:58AM
I have create a new mobile template that supersedes the old iPhone Template. This one should work in Android and Opera mini as well. It should in general look better on the iPhone as well. Also, it has more coverage of Phorum features. You can read and post. You can also read and post private messages. Any page not available will return a message stating that the page is not supported in the mobile site rather than throwing you into some page you can't read.

Used in conjunction with the new Automatic Mobile Template module, your mobile users can get a mobile template automatically when landing on the forum.

This template (with the module) is running here at Phorum.org.

I just had to see what this looked like, even though I don't have a smart phone. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get a control center to select a different template. <G>

Are you aware that the download links are not shown when viewing this page from an iPhone? I had to change the browser ID to IE8 so that I could download the mod.

Thanks!

Why would you download an archive on the iphone? ;)
I can understand the need for images or alike but archives?

Here is a warning I received when I tried to add the module: possible module "mobile" found, but no module information is available for that module.

That means that you have failed to keep modules and templates apart. You're in the template forum here, so that should be a pretty good hint that you should not drop the code that you download here in the modules folder.

Uhps...Sorry about that!

I got some error logs:
PHP notice: Undefined index: PM : Have I accidentally removed {LANG->PM} from the language file?
I also received: Undefined index: raw_last_post
The template loads but it does not seem to connect with the "index" hook for example.
(I need to reveal: I don't own a smartphone.)

The phorum variable {URL->INDEX} does not return what it is supposed to on the read.tpl and pm.tpl pages.

EDIT: Of course, the simple fix was to replace the variable with a simple "index.php"
