There is a problem with this template when I allow users to select different templates to use, as Azumandias suggested. When I change to Emerald Template and then back, the tabs disappear, as shown in my previous image. In my previous post I said that there was a problem with my header and footer, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I'm attaching another image just in case...anyone have any idea why it is doing this? When I just have Tabbed Emerald it is working fine, but then the moment I switch to Emerald and then back, the Tabs mess up. AND THIS IS ONLY HAPPENING FOR 1 FORUM! ALL THE OTHER ONES WORK FINE! I really have no clue why this is happening. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, here is what I am seeing and I don't think it is a Tabbed Emerald error:

  • In Firefox, there are no issues.
  • In MS IE7, if you change your template from Tabbed Emerald to Emerald, the tab's do not appear for the pages you visited while in Emerald. This means that any index.php or list.php will not display the tab images if you visted one of those pages while in Emerald.
  • A CTRL-F5 will force IE7 to do a full refresh and will then show the tab images.
  • This led me to find that the css files are not refreshed simply by opening a page in Tabbed Emerald. The page code will be the Tabbed Emerald code, but the css will still be Emerald. Thus the class definitions for the tabs will not be present.
  • However, this is only happening on your secretninjaman site. On my test site, changing between templates works fine. I was not able to test whether the same would happen between Lightweight and Emerald as your Lightweight template produces a PHP error.
  • You may want to download the DebugBar for IE7 and address the 82 other warnings your page presented. Any one of these could be causing your issue.
  • Beyond that, you could simply inform your IE7 users that they will need to do a hard refresh any time they change templates.

OMIGOSH 82 errors? Where? Where? Help!!!

Actually, its the exact opposite. I have both on my computer and it works fine in IE regardless but not so much in FireFox.

I also found out how to temporarily "fix" the problem. When I delete all the cookies on my computer it somehow works again. I am very confused, and I am also very freaked out about the 82 different errors. Please help!!

AHHH!!! 82 ERRORS?!

And what's the LightWeight Error?

OMIGOSH SO MANY ERRORS!!!

Come on... I have told you that your HTML code is very broken, because you simply included your header above Phorum's header. You created broken HTML that way and there is no guarantee in what way browsers will render your pages. You have multiple <html> and <body> open tags now, which is *WRONG*. You acted like you didn't care, but now I get a different feeling. So, get to it and fix that HTML.

You can also use [validator.w3.org] to check your pages.

Learn HTML and incorporate the original code from the header.tpl in your site's header. Do not include your site's header in Phorum's header.tpl like you did now, but instead combine yours and Phorum's into a new header.tpl for Phorum.

Have you gotten support for the Color Scheme mod yet?

Joshy, that module is capable of changing all of the colors, but not the background and tab images for the Tabbed Emerald template. PM me with your forum details and I will be happy to help you create tab images in the appropriate colors.
