IntraMessenger is a different instant messenger, can authenticate (login+password) through Phorum.
Users dont need to be connected in Phorum, they can contact your community (with their Phorum account)
without give their personnal msn/yahoo email address.
Server is PHP/MySQL (same Phorum) make easy for the administrator to choise all options, for display, contact manage, lock...

How to do in Phorum ?
NOTHING to change inside Phorum (a good news !)
Just have to active option
and if necessary change paremeters to Phorum (host, database, login and password), nothing else.
On (Windows) clients, install and choose the url of installing IntraMessenger,
use same login and password (same Phorum), and lets go !

This does not add an instant messenger to Phorum. It's a separate Windows executable that provides an IM interface that runs separately from the browser that is on a Phorum page. All the server does is use the authentication information from Phorum. To me, this is a fully separated product that merely provides a bridge to the Phorum authentication data.
Not that this is bad or anything, but from requests for IM systems that I have seen on these forums, Phorum administrators are looking for something different when they talk about "add an IM system to Phorum".
