Module: Post Previews

Thanks for the idea, rasta! I did implement this method in the JSON API. I do not have a system without JSON in PHP to test on currently (I have it hard-compiled into the binary). So if the people that do run on such system would be so nice to test out the new code, that would be great.

The changed code can be found in changeset 3725.

I put in attachment the french translation for this module.
Manu.

EDIT: Thank you for your work, Manu. I have added your french.php language file to the module as of v5.2.1.02.

Hello to all and congratulations for the software which I want to use for my site. I am new here and need some help.

Sorry for my bad english but I will try.

I'm testing version 5.2.10 on my apache server with several modules and while testing, the post preview (post_previews_v5_2_1_01) works after setting "NO cookies" in the admin control center. Today while testing the preview doesn't appear any more. Even after waiting (due to connection speed).

Any idea what's wrong? What further information do you need?

By the way, has anyone the phorum in use in different languages under the same domain so I can see it? Maybe in the future I will make a phorum for german, english and greek users. Do I need 3 different installations on my server?

Thank you in advance.

Use Firefox and install the Firebug plugin. This plugin will allow you to take a peek "under the hood" to see what requests are going back and forth between the browser and the webserver. It also will show if there are javascript errors. This might give us some more information on why the post preview isn't working for you.

Another option is to setup a test account for us to check it out ourselves. Of course, the Phorum install needs to be on a public server.

Your last question doesn't exactly belong in this thread, but you can install multiple language files. The user can choose in the control center what language to use. If the user does not configure a language, then the default configured language will be used. You can configure a specific language for each forum, which will be used when a user visits the forum. If you want multple boards, each in their own language, then you could create mutiple folders and enable them as virtual roots, then configure the forums in those folders as you like. All kinds of options and more advanced options could be written as a module. If you'd like to discuss this further, then please create a new thread in the support forum for this, so this thread doesn't go off-topic.

Thank you for your quick answer and sorry for the (multiple language - off topic). For this I will look another time.

On my server there is a test account. User test, passw test you can use.

At this time there is all in greek but I think this doesn't have to do with the preview.

Thank you again

Maurice, thanks for having higphorum put a test account together. I can confirm that the issue is related to the phorum_session being added to the url. Evidently you are the first person to use this module in conjunction with not allowing cookies, thank you for reporting the bug. I will have a patch for you shortly.

Ok, I have patched the header.js file. Please upload this new version to the mods/post_previews folder and you should be set.

EDIT: This patch is now a part of the module as of v5.2.1.02.

Thank you very much. Test was ok and it works fine.

I just wanted to note that even if cookies have been activated (Require cookies), every time when going with the mouse over a message, the cookie-message appears but after accepting the cooking the preview doesn't appear. I use Firefox browser.
