Module: Admin Mass Email

Posted by Joe Curia
Sedget, thank you for giving me the necessary admin and ftp access to properly debug the module. It should be working fine for you now. See below for a fuller explanation.

I have completed v5.2.1.05 of this module with the following changes:

- Bugfix: On systems with a large number of users (over 2000) it is not feasible to grab all of the users information in one go. This would cause a failure when sending to conditional users. Thanks go to Phorum user sedget for reporting this problem and allowing the access needed to debug and repair it.

- Enhancement: Debugging added before conditional users are selected.

- Bugfix: Fixed a bug which could cause problems when sending to a group.

- Enhancement: Added debugging options to the Edit Settings tab of the settings page which allow debugging the first or all emails and also allow the admin to debug emails without actually sending them.

Hi,

I have installed this module.
I have to send email using the "Send mail through SMTP" module

When trying to send to a selected group (of 4 people) I get the following error message

Warning: require_once(./mods/smtp_mail/swiftmailer/Swift.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux194/r/"domainname.com"/user/htdocs/Phorum/mods/admin_mass_email/admin_mass_email.php on line 432

This is true, in the directory
/home/fhlinux194/r/"domainname.com"/user/htdocs/Phorum/mods/smtp_mail/
there is no directory swiftmailer
Am I missing something here?
the latest smtp mail module has been switched to another mailer class. guess it has to be changed in the "Admin Mass Email" module, Joe?

Yes, I will need to update that. Probably need to support both for a while though, right? Unfortunately, I'm a bit busy now, so this won't happen till later next week.

I don't have an answer to the question, but I did take care of merging the question with the original thread.

Hello Joe / Thomas

Not chasing you but I am no programmer and this should be a great add on to the system...

Any news on any updates to this module to work with the latest Phorum release, and remove (or correct) the references to swiftmailer etc?

Alternatively what is the new mailer class (as mentioned by Thomas above) in v5.2.11?

If anybody is working on this, ideally I would like Moderators to be able to do mass mailings via smtp as well.

Thanks

When I choose PREVIEW when using this module, a new tab or window opens up with the following message...

Quote

You are accessing the admin after a security timeout.

Please make sure that you really want to access this URL and weren't tricked to go to the admin.
Please click on continue to go to this URL or on cancel to go to the forum homepage.

And I never get to see the preview. What can I do?
