Great, thanks for this "workaround"! Now it works! I just have to find out how to place my new values in the correct order - but I think this won´t be a big prob...

The order of the fields can be set from the settings page for this module. Go to the "View My Profile" tab and use the up and down arrows to position your fields. The preset Phorum fields will always come first however, unless you further edit the profile.tpl file.

Joe, you don't think you could add something like this in it could you?

I used to have it implemented and after I updated from .7 to .9 it stopped working.

It showed a small icon flag in the profile after a person selected their country.

amnesia, my module is already capable of doing that. You need to click "Add New Field" on the "View My Profile" tab and add the following blend of HTML and PHP to the Custom HTML field:
Language: HTML
<dd><?php global $PHORUM; print $PHORUM["DATA"]["PROFILE"]["country"];?>&nbsp;<img src="images/flags/<?php print $PHORUM["DATA"]["PROFILE"]["country"];?>.png" border="0"></dd>

and there was light!

I just changed it so that the image source actually pointed to the /forum/images folder because as it was it pointed to /control/images (which most probably is due to the SEF_Url module) but at least now it'll work with or without that module.
Module: Enhanced Custom Profiles v5.2.1.03 - Fields shown on user profile pages
December 13, 2008 03:43AM
I have completed v5.2.1.03 of this module with the following changes:

- Enhancement: Added support for the Aeriel Boundaries template.

- Enhancement: Added support for the Black-Grey template.

- Enhancement: Profile fields shown on "View My Profile" also shown on user profile pages.

- Bugfix: Fixed a PHP warning which could occur if an array was empty when a foreach loop was called.

- Bugfix: Textareas shown as textareas in the "View Profile" page. I think I had a reason for this back in the day, but it escapes me now.

- Fixed a bug which could cause errors on the registration page.

[remysharp.com]
Joe, have you ever tried to auto-populate drop-down menus like Remy Sharp?
Wouldn't it be great to pick apart all connected directories of a Phorum folder path like /automaker/chrysler/pt_cruiser/chassis/muffler or country/state/city/? Could you please share your ideas? Thank you!

This is a neat idea, but may be beyond the programmatic scope of this module. This would require a string of selection boxes with linked values. The settings page for this kind of selection would be very difficult. The boxes would need to be given a unique id and an ordinal id. They would then have to be given data with unique ids which link to ordinal ids which also have unique ids which link to ordinal ids and so on. Thus selection group 1 would have box 1, 2, 3. SG1B1 would have data 1,2,3. SG1B2 would have data D1-1, D1-2, D1-3, D2-1, D2-2, etc. SG1B3 would have data like D1-1-1, D1-1-2, D1-2-1, D1-2-2, D2-1-1, D2-1-2, etc. Creating a settings page which would easily and intuitively prompt a forum admin to populate the data set would be quite difficult. Still, an interesting idea which I will place in my box of unborn wonders :)

I am wondering how I can allow users to view their profile entries but not edit them again? Whatever option I use under the module settings the profile data show up under "Edit My Profile".

I would like users to go through different registration processes. With jQuery I tried to expand a registration process according a checkbox value. Can I expect any "$" conflicts? Thank you!

ps: Do you happen to have a compatible "simple-rounded" template for this module?
