For phorum version 5.2.8
{IF MESSAGES->mod_user_avatar}
<img src="{MESSAGES->mod_user_avatar}" alt="avatar" />
{/IF}

It should be use MESSAGE, not MESSAGES

That is not true. MESSAGES is for hybrid and flat view. MESSAGE is for threaded view. This is explained as such in the README as well, where a distinction is made between the various thread displaying modes.

I have installed this mod and tried to edit my avatar settings. However, I received this PHP error message:

Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /var/www/web5/vevsetine.cz/kecalek.vevsetine.cz/mods/user_avatar/cc_panel.php on line 203

Do you have any suggestion what could cause this and how to fix it?

I'm on v3.0.3, v5.2.9.

In case you want to try it, I have created a test user:

http://kecalek.vevsetine.cz
login: test
pwd: TEST

Hi Maurice,

I have a wish for your User Avatar Module: Gravatar Support. It shouldn't be to hard to implement these additional function.

Regards
Oliver

I don't see the use of doing anything gravatar specific. Generic avatar support through URLs would make a lot more sense to me. And as far as I can see, that would work with gravatar too.

I'm not sure why it would not be hard to implement it. I generally don't like the idea of having web URLs for avatars, because URLs tend to disappear over time. I cannot see URL avatars without an accompanying system to detect or at least periodically check the provided URLs, to not have those broken avatars on the site. Additionally, some checking has to be done to prevent avatars that are too large dimension-wise. With URL avatars, the amount of control over features like that is largely out-of-hands. Surely, a basic non-checking implementation would be quite simple, but I'm afraid that that is not my style of coding.

I have Per-User Avatar Module version 2.1.1
and mistake following:
some users including me can't change their settings in their profiles
"Block displayibg avatars" is checked and all images uncheck
if I change something and try to save then I cannot do that.
If I log out then I able to see others' Avatars
If I log in as another user then I can change Avatar settings...

What is problem?

I don't know. This thread is not about that version of the module. This thread is about my full rewrite, starting at version 3.0.0. If you have questions, then please ask them in the original module's thread (probably in the 5.1 modules forum) or upgrade your system to use the new user avatar module.
