Module: Group Auto-Email

I have attempted to install this module with no success. I have uploaded it into the mods folder and it appears in my list of mods under administration. I have enabled it at that level, but still no emails. When I click on 'Settings' I get a blank form.

I have a group setup with users and added a phorum to that group. I'm a newbie so I'm probably doing something wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

you could start with telling which phorum-version you are using. this is the section for phorum-5.2.x modules.

Sorry, I didn't realize these modules were all for 5.2. I am using 5.1.25. Should I upgrade to 5.2?

If you want to help us find the last few bugs that might be lingering in the code or if you want to run some 5.2 modules, then upgrading might be a good choice. So it's not something you should do, but we won't stop you if you do.

I did, I did. :-) I had a few minor upgrade issues which I will check the 5.2 forum to see if I should list them there, but the module seems to work now. :-) It did stop emailing on several posts and I'm not sure why, but it appears to be working this morning.

When someone has a moment, are these assumptions valid.

If..

If...

1. You have a group setup...
2. With users in the group
3. And this module is installed and enabled
4. And the individual user has not disabled group email updates

then...

every person in that group will receive an email when anything is added to that forum whether it is a new topic, sticky note, announcement, reply, etc.

Is this a correct understanding or did I miss some "gotchas".

By the way, I really do appreciate the help and will do what I can to help make the tool better. I reviewed a bunch of forum software and, in my opinion, nothing comes close to this.

Any progress on auto posting email replies to the forum?

I am only using the email notification. When someone adds a post an email is sent to everyone in the group...and yes this has been working since I upgraded. I haven't actually tried the auto-posting of an email reply. I think that is another module.

I have two groups on my forum, Moderators and Board Members. Moderators have rights to every forum with moderation rights checked off so they can moderate all forums. Board Members have the right to view 1 special forum that regular users can not view.

Is it possible for this script to only e-mail Board Members when a new post is made in their forum?

If not, should I ditch the Moderators group and assign those rights to the individual persons through the Edit Users page and then only have 1 group; Board Members?
