Hi Joe
Not sure if this has been tagged up before (and not 100% sure if related to this mod) but when adding in a URL into a message what you receive in your email is the text (that you add) but not hyperlinked? When you visit the post on the site it is linked ok? Any ideas on anything I can do to troubleshoot this one?
Thanks
Harry

If the module sends mails in the same way as phorum then these are plain-text mails. you can only link urls with html.

Hi Thomas
Few images attached to maybe help what I am saying. So basically everything seems good at the input point but then in the email received you see the word i.e "test" but it is not linked?

Yes and basically I'm saying thats correct as the email is (probably) plain text and you can't add links in plain text.
IMO all formatting is stripped from mail messages.

Humm I can see what you are saying. I am not sure what to do as it defiantly looks strange when you just see text in the email without the link which you have put in at the front end ( as the author you kind of think it will show as a link).
One thing although the message received is in "plain" there is a link to view the full thread which is linked and works. So I am right to think that there is something that can be done to look at making BB links work in some way?

making the link clickable is done by your email client, not in the mail directly. surely the bbcode could be parsed to contain both the link and the text but as two separate entities, not as a linked text.

Everything in [brackets] gets stripped.

If the above was sent via the module, it would show up in my email as...

Everything in gets stripped.

Are you saying this is something that the Dev team could look at?

Could, yeah. But we have no current plans to do that.
It would involve different output formats for messages to do it right.
Patches welcome ;).
