Hi all,

Here is the error messages I am getting with the Easy Color Scheme Manager v2.04. I also downloaded the settings zip file, and installed settings.php in the easycolorscheme module. In my case I creating my own color scheme based on the defualt color scheme from the emerald module. When I make the change to my colorscheme it doesn't change when I view it on a webpage.

My settings page is rife with undefined indecis and such, but those do not impact the actual performance.

rambro, did you follow these steps:
- Change colors and save scheme
- Apply saved scheme to all forums (third row from the bottom of the settings page).

Also I just remembered that I found that when I first set up a new scheme I needed to go to Cache Settings (on the left) and turn off "Enable Caching stylesheet data (CSS)". I believe you could then simply turn it back on to refresh the cache with your new scheme, but I'm not sure how the caching system works. Could I get one of the devs' opinion on this?

Let me know if this doesn't help, rambro.

Azumandias

I did the following: I turn off "Enable Caching stylesheet data (CSS)"

then I did this

- Change colors and save scheme
- Apply saved scheme to all forums (third row from the bottom of the settings page).

My color scheme took effect, which is good. :)

However, when I re-enabled the "Enable Caching stylesheet data (CSS)", the "Default color scheme took over when viewed on my webpage.

I turned off the "Enable Caching stylesheet data (CSS)", my custom colorscheme kicks in when viewing my web page containing the forum.

I did this a number of times.

I guess I will have to wrap my head around the caching code. For now, simply leave it unchecked. It is a setting to help improve speed, but it shouldn't hurt too badly to have it off.

And so the todo list grows.

Yep, minimum log level is set to "debug". No other errors - all other Phorum modules seem to be running without issue.

Ok, I have edited the settings.php again to hopefully debug where the exact problem is. Please download the attached settings.php (zipped) and overwrite your current one, then follow these steps:

1. open the settings page from admin
2. in the address bar, at the end of the address, add "&do_debugging" and hit enter.
3. report the last line of the completed steps listed.

Lets see if we can get this licked.

EDIT: file superceded and removed.

Thanks Azumandius. No good news to report, I'm sorry to say. I followed your instructions, with these results:

1. open the settings page from admin
2. in the address bar, at the end of the address, add "&do_debugging" and hit enter.

-- Changed address to: ~forumaddress/admin.php?module=modsettings&mod=easy_colorscheme&do_debugging
-- Hit Enter
3. report the last line of the completed steps listed.
-- This still resulted in a blank page where (I assume) the "Settings" page should be. Perhaps I should clarify this - the Phorum menus on the left are there, as is the "Phorum Admin" and "Phorum Status" at the top. Just nothing but white other than that.

The only difference is a slight change in the error log that was generated; specifically the "PHP notice: Undefined index:" line:

Message:

PHP notice: Undefined index: usescheme

you are hitting some php or parse error there as the execution stops totally. the undefined index warnings have nothing to do with this.
do you have access to some php error.log?

Thanks Thomas. I don't see a php error log, although it's quite possible I'm overlooking it. However, I did see that this line was commented out in /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini:

;error_log = filename

... so I changed it to:

error_log = "/etc/php5/apache2/error.log"

... then went through the process of trying to get into the settings for the Easy Color Scheme Manager, which produced the same result in the Phorum log, but nothing in the path I indicated in the error_log var. So, I obviously need more help. :)

Ok, another settings file, same as before but this one should try . . . catch the error, no need to do_debugging.

EDIT: Ok, the try failed miserably, I am working on it though. . .

EDIT_2: Ok, two errors on my part, bad coding, not using PHP 5. You can now ignore these two edits and use the attached file.

EDIT_3: file superceded and removed.
