I have just added this mod to one of my Phorum sites and I must say I am impressed as always. You definitely have set the bar for the rest of us so-called mod developers. Thanks for your work.
I wish I could say that I only posted to thank you, but that's not true. I also have a suggestion/request for this mod. One of the forums I have created on the site is a recipe posting forum. I would love to have this mod automatically attach a rating poll with a preset question and answers to the first post in each new thread of the forum.
I know you're busy and would be happy to do some hacking on my own if you wouldn't mind, but I know it won't have the same polish and durability that your code does. Any pointers or quick implementation ideas you could give me for this?
Thanks again.

A rating poll? Aren't you looking for general message rating then? This module won't last for purposes like that, because of the way in which data is stored. I want message rating too, where it is possible to process all ratings that have been done to generate neat statistics. With the poll module, this is not possible. It also feels a bit abusive to use a poll for rating and users won't be able to add another poll themselves. You'd run into things like having to hide the poll add/delete controls for the forum, because otherwise the poster can change or delete the rating poll from the message.
If you still want to go this way, then I suggest writing a separate module that implements this feature. What you could do is write a mod that at post time adds the data structure that will be picked up by the topic poll module to the meta data. That would most certainly work.

Hi there,
Thanks for this wonderful module !! Very helpful. I was wondering about something. Is it possible to create a poll with the possibilities for the user to give more than one answer at the same time ?
Like a poll where the question can be : What kind of OS are you using ? With multiple choices like : Windows, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, etc....and the possibility for the user to select more than one answer...
Is it possible to create a poll like that with this module ??
Thx,
Regards,
Francois

No, that is not a feature of this module.
It could be a future option, but it is not at this moment.
The only way to do that, would be to actually implement that in the code.

That is not what the module is for. It would be pretty difficult to modify the poll module to do that job. It would definitely be easier to write a new module.

This is because of the new CSRF protection (some kind of hacking trick) that we had to build into the admin interface. I updated the module to be compatible with this new protection. Please try out version 1.0.12 (uploading that one to the start of this thread after posting this message).
