Can hyperlinks in messages be directed to a new page?
April 29, 2017 05:45AM
Hello,

I am wondering if links in posts can be directed to a new page via target="_blank".
In the read.tpl file there is this variable {MESSAGES->body} to display the message.
Since PHP doesn't seem to be allowed in templates, I could not find a way to manipulate the variable, resp. the html tag of the hyperlink.

Does anyone have an idea for a workaround?

Thanks in advance
Jay

the first option in the bbcode module settings should simply do this already ;)

Hi Jay,

and in my option the user should be ably to decide himself if he wants to open a link in the same window, open a new window or open a new tab... ;)

@Thomas: As simple as that! :-D Thanks for your help.

@Oliver: Yeah, you may be right, but it's not my forum and the administrator wants it to work in the same way as it did before.

Jay
