I'm going to setup Phorum with MODx but is the first time I setup a forum and also the first time installing a CMS :-D
I'd like MODx for usability and I think it is simple.
Do you think I can integrate Phorum with it?
What can you suggest me about the installations? Starting from the CMS to the forum or the contrary?
What means 'slave'/'master' ?
Thank you very much.

You are trying to combine to completely different applications which do not share a common interface to integrate. That is never a simple easy job.
If you have PHP coding skills, then you could write a Phorum module that implements the "user_session_restore" hook to arrange for single sign on functionality. You'd need to create a template for Phorum that plays well with the main modx template.
Another option is to use the embed_phorum module, which fully embeds Phorum in another application and makes Phorum a full slave of the master application modx. Unfortunately, that module is not yet ready for 5.2. I am currently working on it to get it to work and a possible result is that I come up with an embedding connector for Phorum<->modx myself. Not sure though, since it takes quite a bit of effort to get to the guts of CMS packages, since a CMS module needs to be written for the CMSes that I want to support.

Ok Maurice,
I think your work on embed_phorum module is always important!
All I can do is to start using Phorum, now and begin familiarize with CMSs in general, MODx and Drupal in particular way. When I can manage one of these maybe your module is ready for phorum 5.2.
If I can help in some way, ask me for.
I think this forum will be my house in the next days.
Thank you.

The "flite" errors mean that you have no access to startup the flite binary from PHP due to hosting restrictions. Disable the spoken captcha to get rid of them.

No, unfortunately there is no development going on for MODx at this moment. This project has been postponed quite a bit because of a hell project at my day job, which has extended to my night job quite a bit as well (and "night job" is normally where I'd do Phorum development).
