Language Pack of 35 languages in UTF-8 for 5.1.22

Here is a package of all the languages I could find here that users had developed and I could figure out how to use in UTF-8 and 5.1.22:

July 2:

I've just edited into this message a new file (above), that increases the number of languages from the original 25 to 35.

Here are some of the notes I made to my cohorts by e-mail last night:

Looks like 35 languages, because InterTran isn't cooperating 100% with the Portuguese to Brazilian Portuguese translations. When I start inputting English too much, then I know the result will be way too corrupt (or comical) to be useful, and we are better off waiting for a good Brazilian soul to do it the right way.

But, Traditional Chinese is completed! Yay! I wanted that one. I want Farsi and Japanese and others too. But here we are. In due time.

The Korean is half English, by the way, and more English got added my putting it through the Phorum release update program--so I kept it that way, instead of going through trying to translate using the Google translator. Same principle--if there is too much auto-translating, the result will be too corrupt (or too funny to be serious).

The Asturian had a lot of English. This happens with the language files that applied more to the older Phorum software releases. More and more changes happen, more English phrases get generated, that don't get updated translations. So for Asturian, maybe I should have just worked the readily available English phrases in, but I decided to go with copying Spanish in from that language file. This tends to give a tri-lingual effect, because there are modules, like for the forum stats, that are in English only. So Asturians will have those in English, most in Asturian, and then a good chunk of the language in Spanish. The reason I went this way is that, when I had help from a friend, Evangelina Garcia De La Rosa (Eva Garcia in American English), in translating the forum subject titles into Spanish, she smiled when she saw that Catalan was included, like she loves Catalan. I bet that the same would apply to Asturian for some people. So in lieu of Asturian, Spanish.

Romanian was a cinch. Very complete. I think I auto-translated one sentence. Basque was a little tricky. Geez now I can't remember if I applied the same idea as I did with the Asturian.

Next step will be to get all the forums in all the languages up, which will include playing with Right-to-Left Hebrew and Arabic folders. After the forums, come the flags.

Here are the 35 languages as of this morning, all set for 5.1.22 and all with UTF-8 encoding. They are not language-perfect, but they are what I will be launching with.
I've gone through them and either kept the English phrasing (as with much of the Korean), or put the English through auto-translators, or in some cases went with Spanish in place of English (as with much of the Asturian).

Arabic
Asturian
Basque
Bulgarian
Catalan
Chinese Simplified
Chinese Traditional
Czech
Danish
Dutch
Dutch Informal
Elmer Fudd
english
Estonian
Finnish
French
German
Hebrew
Hungarian
Italian
Korean
Latvian
Macedonian
Norwegian
Polish
Portuguese
Romanian
Russian
Serbian
Slovak
Slovenian
Spanish
Swedish
Turkish
Ukranian

Thanks for the important feedback.

You mean the traditional? If so, I was afraid of that. I used multiple software translators, and then checked search engines for images, and for word groupings. I thought I was safer doing this with traditional Chinese, because the simplified was already done and available, and all I had to do was find automatic translators that went from simplified to traditional--of which there are many.

My hope is that as I bump into multilingual people before forum launch, and then the forums get users after they are launched maybe this fall, I will received enough help, and will be able to get the language pack with more langauges, and have each file confidently over 95% anyway. I was hoping the Chinese was starting off better than your review of it, but realistically, I should have expected many errors.

I knew some of what I was doing would have more errors than others aspects of it. For instance, at the forums themselves, the forum titles were all fine in the Italian folder, an Italian woman told me. I did not expect 100%, but still knew I should not be so confident, even thought maybe I should accept this feedback to indicate my being on the right track with the project. For instance, here is the Chinese folder at one of the sites: Babilu 中文.

The short answer is yes, I use the software translators, but multiple ones, and then dig into search engines for word usage and images the words bring up.

Will you be using the files, fixing them, or simply not using them? If you fix them, will you please share the updated file?

Chinese in TW is different from Chinese in Main Land China.
And Hong Kong's Chinese quite similar to the TW one.
Since Babilu is a com.(Short form) of Main Land China so it use CHS(Simple Chinese).
And I want to give you some suggestion.
(After the line is Chinese)

Hi tytsim,

Thanks very much. I looked for the first set of characters, 寫新貼, and could not find it. But the second set, 短消息, I found in many places, as shown:
    'NewPrivateMessages' => "您有新短消息。",
    'PMDisabled' => "短消息不可用",
    'PMNoRecipients' => "您的短消息沒有選擇接收方。",
    'PMNotAvailable' => "您請求的短消息不可用。 ",
    'PMNotSent' => "短消息發送失敗。 未知錯誤。 ",
    'PMNotifyEnableSetting' => "激活短消息到達郵件提醒",
    'PMNotifyMessage' => "您收到一條新短消息。 \n\n發送方: %author%\n主題: %subject%\n\n點擊以下地址閱讀詳細內容\n\n%read_url%\n\n謝謝,$PHORUM[title]",
    'PMNotifySubject' => "新短消息在$PHORUM[title]",
    'PMSent' => "短消息發送成功。",
    'PMToMailboxFull' => "短消息發送失敗。 <br/>接收方'%recipient%'的信箱已滿。 ",
    'PrivateMessages' => "短消息",
    'PrivateReply' => "短消息回覆",
    'SendPM' => "發送短消息",
    'NoPrivateMessages' => "您没有新短消息。",
    'ReadPrivateMessages' => "閱讀短消息",

Should I replace each occurrence, or just this one:
    'PrivateMessages' => "短消息",
