Spanish for 5.1.13??
June 30, 2006 10:26PM
Hi,
I tried to modify the language file generated from the control console but the whole system stops working once i set a new language. I have already translated all the words to spanish.

I noticed that the file generated from the console is a little different from the default (English) language file from the default template. So I also tried to copy the original file form the template and renamed the file to something else with some translated words. This method also freezes the system.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Not without knowing what you did exactly to the file. Your error description is too generic to be able to tell you how to solve things. Can you please attach the language file that you created so far, so we can take a look at it and try it out ourselves? Or provide some webserver error logging to see what errors occur.

Hi,
I am attaching one of two essentially same files. Esp-5[1].1.13.php and spanishtest.php. They differ only in the use of ' or ".

Second file to follow on next thread.

Thank you.

If I try to use this file with Phorum, I get the following error message in my logs:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in

The problem is in this part:
        ...
        "WrittenBy"             =>      "Escrito por",
        "Wrote"                 =>      "Escribio,

        "Year"                  =>      "Anyo",
        ...

After "Escribio", there must be a quote. So change that code to the following and you should be set:
        ...
        "WrittenBy"             =>      "Escrito por",
        "Wrote"                 =>      "Escribio",

        "Year"                  =>      "Anyo",
        ...
