Neat idea. I think you could have done the same thing using the pre_post hook, which would have saved you a little bit of code (that one is only ever called when posting a message, so you would just alter the name before it goes into the database).

You have reason but I wanted that the real_name displayed in the form already.

It is possible to observe effects of my work on [www.pidzamaporno.art.pl] this isn't porn site ;) only rock band. I convert old phorum (3.4) with 70000 messages.
When I will complete template and other i add it.

the real name is not shown at the line that sais "Edited x times. Last edit at ... by [username]".

Can this be done?

ok new version my mod work correctly.

You must replace files and turn off and turn on realnamepost mod in admin because I add new hook.

In avatars's mod i can read : "Enable support for dual default avatars. This requires mod_namedposting version 1.2 or later to be installed."

I've download it but when it work i have an error message :"
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mod_namedposting_setup_avatar() in /home/florent/les-cactus-www/forum/mods/avatar/avatar.php on line 53"

in the realnamepost.php it is writting V1.1 or i need v1.2 or later.
I don't find it....

Thats because this isn't mod_namedposting. Thats another module. :)
