Hi Thomas,
Array index "CaptchaWrongCode" was written as "CaptchaWrongKode" (a typical search&replace bug).

what was missing there to lead to the given problem?

Thanks guys!
However I don't fully understand the difference between the language file in the 'German Language Pack' and the one directly from the Spam Hurdles Module.
I have disabled the German language Module now and I don't see any difference.
But I have just installed Phorum yesterday anyways :)
Cheers,
Kai

Hi Kai,
The German Language Files Package (GLFP) offers three kind of forms of address and gender ("Sie", "Du" male and "Du" female). The original file from the Spam Hurdles Module offers only "Du" male.
The GLFP replaces all existing german language files (for core and supported modules). So you couldn't see any difference. You replaced already the original language file from Spam Hurdles with the files distributed by the GLFP.
The German Language Support Module which is included in the GLPF offers a place for individual text replacements so that you can still do updates of the language files without loosing your replacements. Enabling or disabling the German Language Support Module doesn't change anything because you didn't change anything in mods\german_language_support\lang\german.php (see examples inside this file).
But this should better discussed in the thread of the GLFP...
Regards
Oliver

Just got an email from one of my registered users and she got the following message when she tried to post to a thread she has been involved in.
"Anti-spam software on this server has detected that your message might be spam. You are still allowed to post this message, but it will not be visible in the forums until a moderator approves it. You can now try to re-submit your posting."
I installed Spam Hurdles last week. How can I prevent this from happening again? I installed this mod to prevent spam bots from registering and it has worked beautifully so far. Not one has got through. That is all I want from this mod. I don't want my already registered users to have to see this message for whatever reason. So, is there a setting in spam hurdles that I can check that will allow all registered users to post freely?

Like Thomas already posted in the other thread you started: one of the checks is failing on your user. Can your user reproduce the problem? Then find out what check is failing by enabling them one by one until the error pops up. Not having javascript enabled could be a problem for the checks that use javascript. Doubleclicking the post button could cause the message to be posted, but with an error message for the second post that is done, etc. etc. So please try to find out what check is the problem here.
I'm planning to write a generic logging system for Phorum and after that a change for this mod to be able to easily log what's going on. Unfortunately, for now the only way to debug this is by trial and error.

Setting the default language in spamhurdles November 29, 2006 09:15AM |
Registered: 19 years ago Posts: 67 |
I think this is a great module and we are going try it out with our public forums which get no other spam than bot spam. However, I couldn't figure out (or couldn't find in this rather large thread) how to set the default language (German, in my case). Do I just have to remove the other language files?
Thanks for helping!
Katrin

No, the module will simply follow whatever language the Phorum core uses. The language file has to be named exactly after the main language file from include/lang/, so in your case they probably both have to be named "german.php".

German_Sie language file November 29, 2006 09:56AM |

Of course, that was the problem... We use german_Sie language files in the forum, so I just modified the included german.php file and attach the german_Sie.php for others to use.
Thank you!
