It is unfortunate that Phorum is not able to come up with a better idea to monetize and to move forward like several other forum competitors. (The trend goes to smaller social networks!) Your response and the GitHub activity indicate to me that I expect Phorum to only get maintained in the future. Of course, I regret that Phorum 5.3 probably won't ever be released. Thanks anyway!

What's keeping you from switching? Don't let our current slow pace in development frustrate your ideas. If there's an application out there that does fulfill your needs, then you'd be better off using that one. I still find Phorum quite promising for what I need it for.

I was looking for a path into the future. The future of Phorum does not even get "revisited" at the moment. Currently, I cannot even identify an active community of veteran users/developers discussing new ideas or new opportunities for Phorum. How can Phorum remain relevant without being completely replaced by modern applications of eager software companies or future communication platforms of the major players? The speed of the current progress is a worrisome threat to Phorum.
