Remove spammed users via SQL statement directly?

Our forum (version 5.1.22) has become a victim of excessive spams. I can log in the MySQL monitor and I know it is possible to delete all unwanted "Pending Confirmation' users where the user active column has a value of -2. There is too many of them. The SQL statement would be like this:

delete from phorum_users where active=-2;

Before I go ahead with this, I want to make double sure that it will not cause any problems in terms of application logic ie phorum php scripts? Would it cause any database integrity problems?

Anyone out there did try it too without issues? Please help.

Trevor

if you've custom fields eventually you have to delete those users from phorum_user_custom_fields too. if they've written a message (ok, usually a pending user can't do) the author of the post will be "unknown user".

i've made this more than once, it works fine.
