I have more than one forums in one folder and i'd like to ask is possible show last X post in each forum in avalible forum list ?

Hello,

I have a template and would like to simply 'include' 1 'phorum' file to display phorum on my pages. Has anyone accomplished this? Does phorum 5 support this?

My initial guess is that phorum wasn't designed to support PHP_SELF functionality... anyone?

An example of what I'm looking for can be found on [dynadocs.org] - I have a template and all I had to do was add the following line:

include 'dynadocs.php'

.
.
end of template

The above method is very powerful. Forgive me if I overlooked this feature if it is supported - I recently came across phorum.org and I'm looking forward to using it in for many sites. Awsome forum!

What I would like very much to see is a third version of a thread view - one where messages are positioned in a tree, but with full text and all, not headers only. It should look much like LiveJournal comment pages.
I was going to do it myself, but got stuck in not so easily read code...

Hi all,

Presently, when I click on reply message in read.php , it takes me to replymessage form in the same page.

Now, I want to open it in separate window. For this, I did these things ---

addnav($menu2, $lReplyMessage, "$read_page.$ext?f=$f&i=$id&t=$t$GetVars#REPLY");

replace above with below one

addnav($menu2, $lReplyMessage, "$post_page.$ext?f=$f&i=$id&t=$t$GetVars");

and commented - require "$include_path/form.php";

So, now it is opening in separate window . but message posted is going as a separate thread and not under the parent under which it is replied.

I think, somewhere, I am losing parent and thread Id.

Can anyone help me.

Hi, can anyone suggest a mod or hack that would allow certain users to have their IPs hidden without just turning off IPs altogether

alternativly is there a way of making phorum show the IPs only as numbers

I am looking for a mod that displays the last 20 threads in all the forums on the frontpage (not the forum frontpage), I know that there is a file that does that, but it says something like "safe mode", and the server people will not make it unsafe, so I need a another file that dont have this problem, I hope some of you can help

Hi,
I'd like to suggest a mod that displays the online status of the user for their AIM, MSN, and/or Yahoo ID that they fill in within their "Phorum Profile."

I found an MSN Online Status Indicator for phpBB that you could perhaps **borrow** the code from, address to it is [www.phpbb.com]
I have no idea how you could incorporate it with Phorum, but I haven't messed with it because I don't want to screw my phorum up again.

I'm sure someone could get it figured out fairly quickly.

This is probably a stupid question, but why has the usenet grab project died? I would think that usenet newsgroups would be a great way, especially for a site just starting out - to get a full, active phorum going? What about a mod to synch. phorums across different sites? So that a group of sites could all have phorums whose posts are updated by other phorum users posts?

I really want to use usenet grab, but unfortunately it's pretty old and doesn't work very well at all anymore.

Hello!

In my old phorum3-version I found a helpful function: the file list_new.php shows the latest 10 or 25 or 50 posts. Lots of my users use this function.
Does anyone have a new version of this function, which works with phorum5?

Hi, I'd like to upgrade my 3.3.2 phorum version.
I saw last stable version is 3.4.8a, but 5.0.6, tough it's beta, seems to be almost stable, cause there are several bag-fixing done since march to th end of may.
My question is: 1) is it coming out a new, final, stable version of Phorum5? If you say that stable phorum5 is coming out in...let's say...a couple of week, I'll wait for it of course.

Two other question (sorry if I bother you) to better undestand wich version I've got to install:
2) is phorum5 that better than 3.4.8a? Or maybe there are just few improvement so that I'd rather install 3.4.8a without waiting (even it's only a matter of weeks) for new stable version?
3) phorum 3.4.8a need a new db (meaning I'll lose old posts)? and what about phorum5? Because if with 3.4.8a I can "save" old post, but not with 5.0.6...also in this case I'll probably choose to go for 3.4.8a without waiting new stable version

I've just installed Phorum 3.4.8a on my website (www.classaves.co.uk/birdnews, but forum not linked up yet as I fiddle with it!). I'd like to incorporate a navigation panel (which, using SSI, appears on the rest of the site). Is there any easy way of doing this, perhaps using some sort of PHP "include" code (though it's not called that in PHP is it?!)

I was wondering if anyone has tried to integrate this with their site? I was looking to figure out a way to have a forum automatically posted on a certain action (posting of an article (news site--so the article can automatically have its own forum for instant discussion). it looks like I just need to use the add function and set the variables myself, but i am not totally sure--or I could just call the add Page right after the person submits the article. I am integrating the phorum 3 in anothor application, and need to give "creating a phorum" as an option in one of the forms of the administration Control.

I have created so for a page that sets all the variables required in the create new forum. I still need to access the add forum scripts is "admin/actions/add.php".
I am facing a bit difficulty setting the global variables.

In other words, I need a script that add a forum without any restriction or permission.
