I'm getting really close to going production with phorum and I'm excited! One final thing is to have a Phorum template that somewhat mocks my Wordpress one. To do this, I need to do this:

1. Copy the header and footer from the Wordpress template to the Phorum template
2. Change the colors of the Phorum template to match the Wordpress template
3. If possible, change the font to match the Wordpress template

I'm happy to pay for the work.

On my Phorum main page I would like to change "Create a New Phorum" to "Register". Seems simple, I can change everything else but danged if I can find this. Anyone know the .tpl?

Hello,
I am new to Phorum forum and was into it right away.
I liked the look and feel of it.
One thing I disliked though was: Themes.
I cannot find themes very easily. There should be a themes section or button, not inside the forums themselves.
Anyway, I was in search of a gaming theme.
Can anyone help?

I have an old phone, it's a Samsung Galaxy SII, but until I started messing with trying new templates and ultimately failing and reverting back to the old faithful Simple Blue template, I can no longer see my forum on my phone.

For some reason the only template that works at all at this point is simple-blue. All other templates fail to load properly so I don't know what is wrong. I am assuming I broke something but I'm at a loss.

The front page works fine, but once you click on any link from the front page it shows a blank page on my phone. Also the header and the footer no longer appear on my phone even on the front page. Keep in mind on other newer browsers it works fine, and it works on my friends newer phones with no troubles, and I don't have a mobile template, so there must be something wrong with the template that doesn't allow it to work right on my phone.

Can anyone help me identify what went wrong with my template that would have broken it on older stock phone browsers like mine?

I'm not going to insert a hyperlink here now, but my site is cratedigging . co

Can anyone see where I forgot to dot an i or cross a t? I don't remember editing anything but I can't think the stuff I did is coincidence, it's not my phone, it's gotta be an error.

I am trying to edit the classic template to look like this:

Yeah i know it is not the best looking site graphically, but it is what my audience would love to see... Because they have been using it for years now, so i gave them the choice to choose between templates....

So far i have been able to set the colors etc... The problem i do have is how to code in images to add to sticky posts, i a have very little knowledge on how to work with code, but i try to DIY myself through it. This time i must admit i am completely stuck on how to do it, i really have no freaking idea on what to change at all...

There was an old thread that explained how to do it for version 5.1, but there is no thread that explains how to do it in 5.2 so no luck....

Private Messages broken with spam_hurdles on (2 replies)

Private messages work with the emerald template. But Emerald's colors don't match my enclosing website.

I tried Aerial Boundaries and Coffeeshop. For both of those private messages produce an error message, for ANY pm, saying it was rejected as spam. The settings for spam hurdles complain the hook {HOOK "tpl_pm_editor_before_textarea"} is missing in pm_post.tpl

So I added that hook into pm_post.tpl (for coffeeshop template) in the same place it appeared in emerald. But pm's are still gabust.

Any hints about this?

I tried turning spam_hurdles off and got almost 300 bogus login names in less than a week. So somebody's bot is getting in when spam_hurdles is off.

Adding html contents from external text file (2 replies)

I have an external text file with some HTML code in it. This text file updates with updated HTML code (it's a cache from a widget on my wordpress site).

So, I want to echo the HTML into an area in my Phorum template.

Standard PHP Include, include once or jquery.load functions don't seem to work.

How I would I get the Phorum template to load the contents of this file and output them?

Hi guys, if I want to completely remove "Edited _ times _ by _" line in posts, what am I supposed to edit in code?

I guess this should be changed in template (Emerald) files but I don't know where and which lines of code should be changed. Does any one know?

Hello,

has anyone implemented a dynamic font-size feature yet, that enables the user to change font-size via Buttons?

I am not sure, how to change the values in the settings.tpl dynamicly. If the user for example presses the larger-button, the value in the settings.tpl needs to be increased by 10%.

Ideas for implementing this?

Hello

Phorum 5.2.19, emerald-alt, mod userlist

I got a strange problem with mod userlist in combination with the template emerald-alt. The plan is to have the same template layout but offering more templates with different colours.
I did the following:

customised template emerald-alt to my linking in regards to colours and created this way the first template. All is shown properly. The userlist table is proper in width and borders are shown.

To create a different coloured template, the following steps were done:

a: created a new folder in the templates folder
b: copied the files from my first template into this new folder
c: changed the info.php to show a different name
d: changed the colour settings in settings.tpl and reflected the different folder name for the header images
c: checked the template in the browser. Result: all is working as expected exept for the userlist table. The table is not shown in full width and the borders are not shown as well. See attached image user-list

Is this a common problem ? Where would I have to start looking ?
As a side note: Because of this problem, I made a second fresh installation but the problem persist.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

In my template read.tpl, there's some template language statements ( {MESSAGES->RRDATA->value} or {IF URL->UNSORTBYRATE} or {IF URL->UNSORTBYDATE} ) that doesn't work meaning that my html code between those statements are not visible on my forum.

Any ideas why ?

Hi,

I'm modifying my phorum templates and I've been blocked with two or three things:

(1)How can I integrate/interpret a template code (cc_subscription, friends, pseudo_panel) into another one (cc_strat) ?
When I copy the code of cc_subscription (users following topics) into cc_start, the followed topics do not appear on cc_start template page (control.php).

(2)How can I preview my friends on cc_start.tpl? (I want to see some of my friends profile picture/link to their profile, not only on the control.php?0,panel=friends,action=managefriends page but also on cc_start.tpl page (forum/control.php).

(3)How can I put pseudo_panel.tpl code into cc_usersettings.tpl? (They’re maybe restrictions that forbid me from seeing the result on the cc_usersettings.tpl page).

Hi,

I am new to phorum and have a problem with my template / view:

I want to show the main forum titles on all (some) pages.
So I looked at the index.tpl how it is done there and I copied the LOOP FORUMS into list.tpl, but that doesn't work.
I couldn't find where the variable FORUMS is build.

Is my request possible or must I create a module?

I know that header.tpl and footer.tpl controls the header and the footer of our pages.
But what about the other template files?

Can you tell me what do list.tpl or read.tpl do ? In which case do they take part ?

Which template could be associated to the body of our pages ?

What are the main "tpl" files (if I want to customize them) ?

I've installed phorum and its working fine but I cant seem to get ANY of the temples to work right.

I've followed the instructions but none of them show up in the drop down box to activate them. Only have the 3 that came with the setup. Iv'e checked and they are all supported templates...

I'm running things on Debian (squeeze)

I am in progress of facelifting my 6 years old site. So I have put hand on the templates and everything is great up to when I got into the pm.tpl

Since I am adding icons, at the index I am a bit confused how to proceed.
More in detail I need to differentiate between the folders and don't know how to operate within the following syntax:

Of course anywhere I place an icon it will appear in both folders simultaneously.
Question: any ways to manage this?

Hello dear,

Is there anyway to remove all underline for link.

EXP: remove underline for (Last Post by name) or underline for Attach a file...

Idon't think there is in css.tpl or settings.tpl, because I removed both file in server for check it, but still of allot link shows Underline, all my life I hated Underline.

So please someone tell me how reomve it.

Hi everyone :)

It's been a while since I installed a forum .. I have some new projects right now and I needed a good software, and I remembered how easy it is to integrate phorum into any website template ... Kudos for that !

So I'm back after a few years, sadly with a dumb question :D

I completed the template integration, and when I wanted to edit the css (the colors for example) , I didn't find where to do it ...

the css.tpl file is filled with things like " border-top: 1px solid {border_color};"

where can I edit the border color without making changes to the css.tpl (because that will be helpful in the future)
