Hello Matze,
change on lines 54-56 the Charset of the languagefile:
Activate UTF-8 and deactivate iso8859-*
recent messages after using the languagefile can be wrong, older messages must be right. :-)
Regards
Berti

Hallo Matze,
Berti
I speek swabian and german very well - not english :-(

Hallo Berti,
*verwirrt*
------------------------
Well, I gave it a try, but it won't work. When I check which Charset I'm using in my browser, the option "Lateinisch 9 (ISO)" (don't know the exact engish equivalent for this) is activated with that dot. This is the case when I switched the language-pack to germen. The menu-entry "Lateinisch 9 (ISO) is grey (not active)). *confused*

Permission denied: links to files in the forum are only allowed from the forum itself.
Schreib in Zukunft einfach schwäbisch.

I don't know what URL you used for downloading. I logged out and downloaded the zip file from this thread as an anonymous user. This worked very well and I got a working zip file.
Please tell us what URL you are using.

Ok, in english!
I tried to download the german.zip. The link is in the very first post. I normally click on the link and my browser asks me what i want to do .... But i get the "Permission denied error". Never had that error before.
I use FF 2.0.0.6 on a Unix OS.
With Opera the dialog works as expected, but not with Firefox.
The other thing was about the licence for phorum. From the wiki i see it is open source. Thats all! No more infos about that. On the other hand i can' t find a clearly visible copyright notice at phorum.org. If phorum runs under a standard GPL or Open Source licence, the code must be available for everybody and NOT only for registered users. It is right that everybody is able to download the source for phorum, but it is not correct to expect registration to download localization files. Someone should fix that. Make a pool for all downloads and you are done.
