The first 5.2 version of phorum in french.
You can verifiy the translation on my own forums : [www.notre-planete.info]
It's a reliable version but I can't assume that it's a perfect version.

The file is compatible with ISO-8859-1 characters.

I've updated the file (23/09/2008)

I've corrected some problems with missing "$ PHORUM" tags, typo or syntax mistakes, and I've changed the display date to some more "french" kind, and it's "of course" in "UTF8".

People must take care of the name of the file, french must be always named "french.php", some modules may not work if it's something different !

Duh !

$PHORUM['DATA']['CHARSET'] = "UTF-8";

was overided by :

$PHORUM['DATA']['CHARSET'] = "";

I've upload an "updated" version, so now it works as expected (no weird encoding)

I have put your french.php file in the include\lang directory and replaced english.php by french.php in the distro.php file. Is that all what to do to complete the translation or is there something else to modify ?

Why change distro.php? You put the french.php next to the english.php. No need to delete the english.php like you seem to be doing. Then configure the default settings to use French. Also set the language to French in the forum settings for those forums for which you do not inherit the default settings. That is it.

Y a t-il eu des corrections depuis lors ??

Et est-ce qu'il est possible d'avoir l'administration en français ???

Malheureusement non, on ne peut pas traduire l'interface en question car les éléments sont directement "dans le code" du programme. Un jour peut-être ça sera possible, enfin j'espère !!!

Ensuite quelle est la marche à suivre pour mettre à jour mon phorum depuis la version 5.1 vers la 5.2 ??
J'ai téléchergé la version 5.2 et j'ai remplacé le logo par celui dont j'ai besoin mais j'ai peur de crasher mes préférences d'administrateur
