Disable the Forum in the admin.
Clear the cache. If it is too large (times out without returning success), it may take many tries in the admin,
or you may use cpanel file manager, or equivalent to delete the files and subdirectories in the cache directory..
Phorum uses the user ID # to get the data then substitutes the user name where needed.
Look at your user table.
See if the user ID matches the name. Check in a backup file for the correct ID to user name association.
Rebuild the table in the database. Depending on your host this may be available in phpmysql, under maintenance operations.
If the user table user ID and user names match, rebuild the metadata in the admin.
