Community

Is there any community module out there ?
One that users can create communities. Invite users and join communities
And only group of users can see and comment on their communities.
It is closed to other users until they request or get invited to

No. Closing down forums for groups of users can be done already in Phorum, but there is no module that automates creating forums (or even vroots: multiple virtual Phorum installations on a single Phorum setup)

What about making it so group moderators can't automatically add people to groups?

Well, thats more or less the core functionality of groups.
You could make a module to create the needed functionality for sure but its not build into core.
