Module vs. Hack

A module is self contained. A user can drop the code in, goto the admin, turn it on and it works.
A hack requires the user to alter the core code or the database.
Template "hacks" should be posted in the templates forum. While they are sort of hacks, they really aren't the kind of hacks this forum is talking about.
There is nothing wrong with a hack. The Phorum team only asks that you try to make a module before resorting to a hack. It will be easier to use and more widely used.
