As many of you know, MySQL.com uses Phorum for their own support forums. Well, this year they have offered us free exhibit space in their .org Pavilion at the MySQL Conference in Santa Clara, CA. It is a place at the conference for open source applications that use MySQL in some way. However, we have to get there and have a place to stay. That is where you, our great users, come in.
I have added a new drop down to the donations page so that you can help us with this event. The most expensive thing is the flights from Europe. I am not sure right now if both Thomas and Maurice will be coming. Thomas has confirmed that he wants to come. That may depend on how much money we can raise. We don't have to have it all covered, but every little bit helps.
We will acknowledge everyone that helps with the effort here on the web site.
Thanks for your help.
Update! We have enough money collected that we are comfortable booking the rooms and flights. dealnews.com, my employer, has agreed to pay for my travel (Thanks guys). Its not all covered, but we really want to thank those that have helped out so far.
For anyone in the San Jose area that would like to come by, you can get a free exhibit hall pass if you register now. [www.mysqlconf.com]
Thanks to the follow sources, we have almost all the travel covered.
Donations from all of 2006
Gitaar.net Donations
Scott Goodwin (opensourcehost.com)
Oliver Reisen
Nicola Siotto
Gert Van Dijken
Todd Clark
Sandeep Cariapa (sandman)
Daniel Scherly
Hans-Jörg Probst
Adam Sheik
David Bilson
Christian Sengstag
John Shallo
Nicolas Maesani
Mark Collins
Michael Malinics
Panu
Robert Goodwin
Alen Yen
Additionally, some Phorum users have paid Maurice for some modules. Those funds are also going into this trip.
(Sorry if I forgot anyone. I have tried to keep a detailed record.)
